FRIDAY SPECIAL - Cinnamon Walnut Babka
FRIDAY SPECIAL! Is is bread? Is it pastry? Traditionally a Jewish Celebration bread, our Cinnamon Walnut Babka is an enriched dough that is rolled thin, spread with a cinnamon sugar filling and sprinkled with toasted walnuts, rolled into a spiral, cut in half, braided, and shaped into a round loaf. After it is baked, it is brushed with a honey simple syrup and a citrus glaze.
INGREDIENTS: Dough: Wheat flour (Unbleached hard wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), water, salt, yeast, milk, eggs, sugar, butter. Cinnamon Filling: sugar, molasses, cinnamon, butter, toasted walnuts. Honey Simple Syrup: honey, water. Citrus Glaze: orange juice, confectioner’s sugar
