This is a traditional French baked good made from the same enriched dough that we use for our sugar bun. The item is made from a dough that is enriched with both butter and olive oil in which candied orange and anise seed are mixed into it. The dough is then shaped into a crescent shape with decorative cut outs. It’s soft, pillowy, and aromatic! Right after it is baked it is dipped in melted butter and rolled in sugar.
