On June 8th 2022 we had our new stone mill installed at the bakery! This mill was custom made for us by Andrew from New American Stone Mills, who are on the cutting edge of bringing back the old tradition of milling fresh, whole grains with expertise and locally sourced granite from Barre, VT.
We have sourced our whole grains regionally from New England for the past ten years, but now we will be able to bring in unmilled wheat and rye berries to be milled fresh in our own facility. This allows us to provide a more nutritious product while still prioritizing the regional sourcing of grains in New England and NY state.
Learning to mill will help to deepen our knowledge of our craft and we are grateful to have the opportunity to expand our knowledge with the purchase of this mill.
